Άνθιση: Οκτώβριος-Δεκέμβριος.

Βολβός με χιτώνες μεμβρανώδεις, με λαιμό έως 4 (-6) εκ. μήκος.

Φύλλα 3-7, συνάνθια, στενά, σχεδόν όρθια-αποκλίνοντα, έως 20 Χ 0.5 εκ., λεία ή βλεφαριδωτά στις άκρες.

Άνθη ανοιχτά ρόδινα-λιλά έως λευκό. Τέπαλα έως 3 Χ 0.6 (-0.9) εκ., με 5 παράλληλες νεύρες. Νήματα με διογκωμένη, πορτοκαλί-κίτρινη βάση. Ανθήρες κίτρινοι.

Κάψες ωοειδείς.

Χρωμοσωματικός αριθμός: 2n= 54

Βιότοπος: πετρώδεις και βραχώδεις πλαγιές, μακία, σε χαμηλά υψόμετρα. 

Εξάπλωση: Στα νησιά του Αιγαίου (Κρήτη, Κυκλάδες, Κάρπαθος, Τήλος, Χάλκη ((Biel & Tan, 2009), Ρόδος. Επίσης στην Κύπρο και ίσως στην ΝΔ. Τουρκία.

Tαξινομικά σχόλια: το C. pusillum είναι αδελφό είδος του C. parlatoris, από το οποίο διαφέρει κυρίως στο χρώμα του ανθήρα και στο μικρότερο μέγεθος του. Για την ακρίβεια, το C. pusillum είναι ένα από τα μικρότερα κολχικά που υπάρχουν. 

Flowering: October–December.

Corm tunics papery, neck up to 4 (-6) cm long.

Leaves synanthous, 3-7, narrow, suberect-spreading, up to 20 X 0.5 cm, glabrous or ciliate on margins.

Flowers pale rosy-lilac to white. Tepals up to 3 X 0.6 (-0.9) cm, with 5 veins. Filaments with swollen orange- yellow base. Anthers yellow.

Capsules ovoid.

Chromosome number: 2n=54

Habitat: rocky and stony slopes, maquies, at low altitudes.

Distribution: Aegean islands (Kriti, Kiklades, Karpathos, Tilos, Chalki (Biel & Tan, 2009), Rodos. Also Cyprus, SW Turkey (?).

Taxonomic notes: C. pusillum is sister to C. parlatoris, from which it differs mainly in anther colour and by being less robust. In fact, this is one of the smallest colchicum species.
